We need help!

July 22, 2024 —- We are currently seeking a Front of House Superstar — for Fridays and Saturdays. We are looking to fill the position ASAP, but finding the right fit is extremely imporant for our small-but-mighty operation. Ideally, we’re hoping to have someone very special to join us — our beloved Hope is moving on and it will take a lot to fill her shoes! Commitment to working both Fridays and Saturdays consistantly is extremely important. We can be a little bit flexible with the hours for those days —- 8-4 or 9-5 or somewhere in between (which would be 8:30-4:30 - so, maybe not that flexible?). Primary and most crucial responsibilty is helping customers, so excellent people skills are a must - but we also need someone with a keen eye for detail to keep our front-of-house space clean and tidy, and a creative flair would be a wonderful bonus to help with merchandizing our bakery case and our retail shelves. Duties include: —Helping customers in-person (and ringing up sales - so capability with the register and the ability to count change reliably is imporant!) and via phone (fielding cake orders and questions) —Keeping the bakery case stocked, clean, and attractively arranged — Keeping the front-of-house space tidy and welcoming, which includes light sweeping and cleaning along with stocking our retail shelves and keeping a record going on the record player and making sure the flowers are fresh and the space feels inviting and pretty — Keeping our order slips and calender of orders organized and updated — Keeping our papergoods stocked and managing that inventory — Assisting the bake team with dishes (we ALL wash and put away dishes at FactoyGirl - it’s a never-ending team effort) and keeping the kitchen space organized — Occasionally assisting the bake team with light baking tasks — Helping to package and merchandise baked goods for orders and sales — and plenty more; it’s never a dull day at FactoryGirl and the ideal candidate for this position will be willing to learn and jump in to help with nearly all aspects of bakery work. ***Additional tasks/roles/days/hours are available for the right candidate who may also be interested, available, and capable of a baker’s assistant roll as well. Thursday and/or Wednesday hours may be available for this as well.

Attention to detail and hustle are the biggest requirements. We never stop moving and doing and we expect that from anyone joining our little team - there is no downtime; we work our butts off but the reward is so, so sweet. This is a terrific opportunity for anyone looking to get into baking and spend some time learning from a very talented and dedicated group of women. Pay is fair and competitive and starting rate is based on experience. And I can promise that we provide an inspiring and fun work environment where we are all learning from one another and motivating each other to be our best selves and to constantly better our craft.

We love beautiful baked goods made with love, intention, and intergrity. And we love flowers. And we love really good honest people who have curiosity, drive, passion, and hustle.

Interested? Think you might be a good fit? Think you might be the one to make our little operation even better, more cool, more organized, and kick-ass? Very important to us is that the hours work for your schedule and that you’ll be able to commit to showing up for every shift. If that all sounds good to you, please send an email to Kimberly at factorygirlbakes@gmail.com. As this is an entry-level position, a resume is not expected, but please do tell a little about yourself and why you’re interested, and how you think you’d be a good fit with the crew at FactoryGirl. Please also let us know about your availability and any schedule restrictions. Thank you!
