Help Wanted

We're a small bakery/kitchen, making everything from scratch in small batches. Here, we're all a part of the work that happens in-front-of and behind the scenes; we all answer the phone and help customers, we all have our roles in baking the fresh goods we do every day, we all clean dishes and sweep floors. There is no down-time. We work HARD and take pride in the awesomeness that we create together. Currently, our positions are all part-time - ideal for current or newly-graduated students (culinary or other) or those looking to flex their baking muscles part-time alongside another gig. 

Starting in late March 2019, we're looking to bring on 1-3 more staff members to grow our team. 

FRONT OF HOUSE   Part-time, two-three days/week. We're looking for a bright, outgoing, dynamic individual who loves working with people to maintain our friendly customer service reputation and to keep our storefront shipshape. You'll help customers, both in person and on the phone, with to-go orders and with pre-orders. You'll also keep our retail shelves stocked and work with our bakers to keep the pastry cases stocked with the freshest goodies. Reliability and punctuality are an absolute must. People skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a sometimes fast-paced enviroment are all important here. Ideal candidate will also possess a creative flair for merchandising and displaying our baked goods beautifully. Must be available for a consistent, set schedule, including Saturdays. Entry-level.

MORNING BAKER   Part time, two-three days/week. Seeking a trustworthy, reliable, self-driven individual who can get the mornings started in the bakery kitchen. Some experience with pastry and bread doughs is preferred, but willing to train the right individual if you've got (a lot of) hustle, heart, and some general baking know-how. Ability to prioritize and multi-task are extremely important here, as is attention to detail, neatness, and consistency. More focus on breads, pastries, doughs (including both pie doughs and laminitated doughs) than cakes. Friday and Saturday mornings are a must, other days TBD. {We don't start too crazy early here at Factory Girl. Start time for Morning Baker would be 6-7am.) Pay based on experience.

BAKER'S ASSISTANT/PRODUCTION BAKER   Part time, two-three days/week. We need someone to help with our ever-growing custom orders! Ideal candiate will have some experience with baking, especially with cakes and pastry. In this position, you'll help bake cakes, frostings, and fillings, as well as cookies and everything else we bake, according to our recipes. Organization is just as important as attention to detail and consistency here, as you'll help manage our orders as well as fulfill them. Days and hours are not yet determined for this position; Thursday and Friday are most helpful, Saturdays as well. Entry-level.
